Manual Proxy Configuration - Mozilla Firefox

Users can manually specify Rainmail Proxy Server in their proxy settings. Once done, the Web browser will use Rainmail Proxy and access the Internet. In this section, we will see the steps for configuring Proxy manually in Mozilla Firefox (v3.6.15) running on a Windows 7 system:

  1. Start Firefox by selecting Start -> All Programs -> Mozilla Firefox -> Mozilla Firefox from Windows.
  2. Select Tools menu and then Options.
  3. In the dialog that comes up, select Advanced tab and then select Network tab. That will bring up the following dialog.

  1. Click on Settings in above dialog. That will bring up the following:

  1. In the above dialog, select Automatic proxy configuration URL and specify http://Rainmail Server IP/wpad.dat. For example, if your Rainmail Server IP is 192.168.1.4, specify the URL as http://192.168.1.4/wpad.dat. You can get Rainmail Server IP from Get User Profile from Email address
  2. Click on OK to close dialog.
  3. Click on OK to close dialog.
  4. Now Mozilla Firefox will use Rainmail Proxy server to access Internet.
